The sketching was quick, painless and potentially very useful. Usually when exploring symmetrical forms, I've used a program called Alchemy, http://al.chemy.org/. It hasn't been updated in a while and is a little clunky, but generally the forms created feel random and authentically sketchy. Likely I'll use both in the future.
